Streams

The BSc programme in Mathematical Sciences is a three year programme of study which leads to the BSc degree. It can be followed by a fourth year to obtain the BSc Honours degree. The programme serves as a basis for graduate study and research in Mathematics as well as the use of Mathematics in various careers.

The aim of the programme is to produce graduates who

  • can continue with graduate studies in Mathematics,

  • can enter a career where a sophisticated quantitative ability is required, such as certain areas of the insurance or banking industry for example,

  • can follow a teaching career at the secondary or tertiary level.
