Important Dates

Friday 20 February 2009. Deadline for applications. If possible, please also provide your flight details by this date, so that we can book your accommodation in time. There will be other conferences in town at the same time, so accommodation might become scarce.

Friday 20 March 2009. Deadline for providing titles and lengths (25 or 50 minutes) of talks.

Monday 6 April 2009. Conference starts.
Notice that Friday 10 April (Good Friday) has been kept free. This was made possible by the smaller than usual number of talks scheduled.

Programme

Registration

Registration is now closed, since there is no further accommodation to be found in town.

Accommodation and Airport transfers

Accommodation has been found for all international participants. Most people will be staying at Roland's Uitspan Guesthouse. You will also be picked up at the airport, just look out for a sign with your name on it when you arrive at Cape Town International. With this in mind, please make sure that we have your correct arrival and departure dates and flight numbers.

Funding

We do have limited funds to pay the local costs of some people, preferably students or people with no research funds of their own. If you require funding, please mention this in your application. Unfortunately, we will not be able to cover flight tickets.

Second announcement of 30 January 2009:

Second Announcement: Conference on Arithmetic Geometry and Applications,
Stellenbosch, South Africa, 6-10 April 2009.

Website: http://math.sun.ac.za/~fbreuer/AG2009.html

There is no registration fee.

The deadline for registration has been extended to Friday 20 February.
As there are several other conferences in town at the same time, it
might be difficult to find accommodation if you register after this
date. This means you should please email us your arrival and departure
dates as soon as possible, so that we can book your accommodation and
airport transfers.

We would like to set up a preliminary programme by Friday 20 March, so
please let us know before this date if you wish to give a talk, how long
it will be (25 or 50 minutes), the title and (if possible) the abstract.

Funding: we do have limited funds to pay the local costs of some people,
preferably students or people with no
research funds of their own. If you require funding, please mention this
in your application. Unfortunately, we
will not be able to cover flight tickets.

Application procedure: just email us with your details.

Best regards,

Florian Breuer and Barry Green, organisers

First announcement of 30 September 2008:

The conference will take place 6-10 April 2009, at Stellenbosch University, Stellenbosch, South Africa.

Registration: there will be no registration fee. If we receive your application before Monday 19 January 2009,
we will arrange accommodation and airport transfers for you. Late applications cannot be guaranteed accommodation.

Funding: we do have limited funds to pay the local costs of some people, preferably students or people with no

prestigious than the other, these two categories serve only to allow greater flexibility. Please indicate if
you wish to give a talk and whether it will be long or short. Any talks on Arithmetic Geometry, related areas
or applications thereof will be considered.

For all applications or queries, please contact the organisers.
